Exhortation #93

Exhort 93 – Prayer for Sciatica and Severe Back Pain Relief

If you are living with the agonizing, shooting pain of sciatica or severe lower back pressure, turning to God in prayer brings spiritual comfort, quiets the body’s nervous system, and aligns your heart with divine healing authority. Pray this scripture-rooted prayer to seek relief from nerve inflammation, lower back muscle spasms, and spinal disc pressure.

  1. Dear God,
    I praise You
    and thank You
    for Your presence,
    Your mercy,
    and Your unfailing love.
  2. Thank You
that I can come to You
    with every pain,
    every concern,
    and every burden
    I have been carrying.
  3. You created this body.
    You know
    every bone,
    every muscle,
    every nerve,
    every tissue,
    and every part of me.
  4. And Lord, You see exactly
    what I am experiencing.
    You see the pain
    in my lower back.
    You see the pain
that travels through parts of my body.
  5. You know
    the burning,
    the aching,
    the tingling,
    the numbness,
    or the sudden pain
    that can make movement difficult.
I come to You for healing
    for these moments.
  6. You see when standing hurts,
    when sitting hurts,
    and when bending
    feels difficult.
    When getting out of bed
    takes more effort
    than it should.
  7. It’s a struggle, Lord,
    to find comfortable positions,
    and it’s exhausting
    when my body
    cannot fully rest.
  8. And You know, Lord,
    the thoughts
    that can come with it.
    The concern
    about how long
    this will last.
    The frustration
    of not being able
    to move freely.
  9. You see the worry
    about work,
    responsibilities,
    and the things
    I need to do.
    The questions
    about what is happening
    inside my body.
  10. I bring all of it
    to You.
    The pain.
    The frustration.
    The exhaustion.
    The uncertainty.
    The fear
    of what may happen next.
  11. I place my back
    into Your hands.
    I place my spine
    into Your hands.
  12. I place every nerve,
    every muscle,
    every disc,
    every joint,
    and every tissue
    into Your hands.
  13. Lord, I also bring before You
    anything known
    or unknown
    that may be connected
    to what I am experiencing.
  14. If there are choices,
    habits,
    burdens,
    patterns,
    or things carried
    through generations,
I ask for Your divine mercy
    and healing from them.
  15. Let nothing
    known or unknown
    stand in the way
    of the restoration
    You desire
    to bring.
  16. Stretch forth
    Your healing hand, Lord.
    Touch my lower back.
    Touch my spine.
    Touch every place
    where there is pressure,
    irritation,
    inflammation,
    or tension.
  17. Bring relief
    to my sciatic nerve.
    From my lower back
    through my hip,
    my leg,
    and into my foot,
  18. let Your healing presence
    flow through
    the entire pathway
    of this nerve.
  19. Where there is pressure,
    bring relief, Lord.
    Where there is irritation,
    bring calm.
    Where there is inflammation,
    let it subside.
  20. Where there is numbness
    or tingling,
    bring healthy sensation
    and comfort, Lord.
    Where pain
    has been shooting
    through my body,
    bring peace.
  21. Lord, bring proper alignment
    to my back
    and spine.
    Bring restoration
    to the lumbar region
    and the areas surrounding
    L4, L5, and S1.
    Let Your Spirit take over.
  22. Bring relief
    where discs
    or surrounding tissues
    may be placing pressure
    upon nerves.
    Restore healthy space.
    Restore healthy movement.
    Restore stability.
  23. Relax the muscles
    of my lower back.
    Release every spasm, Lord.
    Release unnecessary tightness
    through my hips.
    Bring relaxation
    to the muscles
    surrounding my sciatic nerve.
  24. Let my muscles
relax and let my hip flexors
    release unnecessary tension.
    Let every muscle
    that has been guarding
    against pain
    begin to settle.
  25. Send Your Holy Spirit
    gently through this body.
    Let Your divine light
    flow through
    my spine,
    my nerves,
    my muscles,
    my hips,
    my legs,
    and every place
    where healing is needed.
  26. Calm my nervous system.
    Quiet the signals
    that have kept my body
    on constant alert.
  27. Lord, restore my movement.
    Help me stand straight
    with confidence.
    Help me rise
    from a chair
    with greater ease.
  28. Lord, help me walk
    freely and comfortably.
    Help me sit
    without constantly searching
    for relief.
  29. Help me bend
    without expecting pain.
    Help me move
    without fear, Dear God.
  30. Restore strength
    to my back.
    Restore strength
    to my legs.
    Restore stability
    to my steps.
    Restore confidence
    in the way
    I move my body.
  31. And when night comes,
    grant me rest
    in Your comfort.
  32. Let the muscles
    of my back
    fully relax in Your comfort.
    Let my nervous system
    settle.
    Let pain
    grow quiet.
  33. Give me deep,
    peaceful,
    restorative sleep, Lord.
    Let my body
    use those quiet hours
    for Your healing
    and renewal.
  34. Lord, protect my mind
    from discouragement.
    This pain is doing more
    than I expected,
    so help me remain hopeful.
  35. When I wonder
    whether I will ever
    move normally again,
    remind me
    that this moment
    does not define
    my entire future.
  36. I will not allow
    today’s pain
    to determine
    tomorrow’s possibilities.
    I will not allow fear
    to become stronger
    than my faith.
  37. Surround me
    with wise medical guidance,
    supportive people,
    helpful resources,
    and every form of care
    You know I need.
  38. Guide those
    who care for me.
    Give them wisdom
    to understand
    what is happening
    within my body.
  39. Guide every decision
    about treatment,
    therapy,
    movement,
    rest,
    and recovery.
  40. Help me recognize
    what strengthens my body,
    and help me avoid
    what places unnecessary strain
    upon my back.
  41. Give me patience
    with the healing process.
    And give me wisdom
    to care for this body
    You have given me.
  42. I believe, Lord,
    that You are with me
    in this moment.
    I believe
    You can bring relief.
    I believe
    You can restore strength.
  43. I believe
    You can restore movement.
    I believe
    You can bring peace
    to every place
    that has been overwhelmed
    by pain.
  44. Let Your goodness
    and mercy
    surround me.
  45. Restore comfort
    to my back.
    Restore peace
    to my nerves.
    Restore flexibility
    to my body.
    Restore strength
    to my legs.
    Restore confidence
    to my movement.
  46. May I stand
    with greater ease.
    May I walk
    with greater freedom.
    May I rest
    without fear.
  47. And may my healing
    become a testimony
    of Your mercy,
    Your wisdom,
    Your faithfulness,
    and Your healing power.
  48. Thank You, God,
    for hearing me.
    Thank You Christ
    for strengthening me.
  49. Thank You
    for sending Your Holy Spirit
    to guide and comfort me.
    And thank You
    for being with me
    through every step
    of this healing journey.

Amen.
