Exhort 23 - Prayer for Restoration of Missed Opportunities

If you feel like you’ve missed out on an opportunity, here’s a prayer for Restoration.

I pray for divine restoration
of the opportunities
that have slipped through my grasp.
My adversaries succeeded
in leading me astray.
I lost sight of my goals
and forfeited what was destined to be mine.
Humbly, I stand before the Most Divine.
As a mere mortal,
what wisdom do I possess?
How can I thrive
on my own merit or by my own means?
Only through God
can I flourish!
I recognize how easily one
can be lured away—
by pleasures, by work,
by companions, by media,
by passing distractions.
The boundary between focus and distraction
is delicate.
Only God
can maintain my equilibrium.
Thus, I seek from God
the blessings I have missed.
As seasons return
to fulfill their purpose,
let missed opportunities
reappear in divine order
and full measure.
If these chances
still serve my greater good,
let them find their way back to me.
Should they have faded with time,
grant me new ones—
and the resolve
to recognize and pursue them.
Open my eyes, dear God,
so I may not overlook
the goodness You have planned for me.
Bestow Your mercy upon me
and restore my fortunes
a thousand times over.
Grant me the blessings
that my detractors have stolen
or kept from me.
Empower me.
Fortify me.
Lift me above past failures.
Transform them into triumphs.
I acknowledge
the Divine presence of God
and remain hopeful
for the blessings that await me.
