Exhort 46 - Prayer for Surgery

If you or a loved one are preparing for surgery, may this prayer bring calm, faith, and reassurance in God’s healing presence.

Thank you, God,
for this surgery
designed to improve my well-being.
I am grateful for Your presence
and guidance throughout this journey.
As I prepare for this procedure,
I ask that You, God,
assume complete control.
May You fill the doctors, nurses, and staff
involved in my surgery
with Your divine spirit,
guiding them to act
in my best interest.
I pray for the removal
of any detrimental energies
that could hinder the success
of my surgery,
by Your grace.
I ask for physical strength
to endure the operation,
heal,
and ultimately achieve
a full recovery.
I recognize
that I have a limited understanding
of my body’s inner workings,
as they are beyond my comprehension.
Yet, You, God,
the supreme creator,
brought me into existence
through Your infinite power.
I place my trust in You, my Maker,
to ensure this process and its healing
are as smooth as possible.
I surrender my fears
regarding this procedure to You, God,
seeking Your courage and confidence
to persevere.
I pray for Your joy
to fortify me
and bestow miracles upon me
and my loved ones,
so we may offer thanks to You.
I now entrust myself to Your care,
allowing Your divine will,
which favors me,
to take charge.
Show me Your mercy, God,
and grant me Your goodness.
I rejoice in You
and maintain a joyful spirit
and a heart full of gratitude
as I undergo this surgery.
